Women of the Bible ~ Eunice and Lois ~ Scripture Saturday ~ 3 John 1:4

Welcome to Scripture Saturday!
Our verse for this week is 3 John 1:4..."I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in truth."
This week we will read about two women, Eunice and Lois, who are apostle Timothy's mother and grandmother. Timothy's mother and his grandmother are described by Paul, in his second letter to Timothy, as both having a 'genuine faith', (2 Tim 1:5) a faith that is clearly visible to others and a faith that continually points to the Father. Timothy would have seen both his mother and grandmother living out their faith on a daily basis.
Paul also writes in his letter that the faith of Timothy's mother and grandmother is the same genuine, strong faith that he also knows dwells in Timothy. The impact Eunice and Lois had on Timothy is profound and lasting. What a wonderful legacy to leave to those that you love!
Ask God, the Holy Spirit to guide you every day so that you point your children, those that you care for, all those that you love towards Jesus...through the living of your genuine faith!
