There is None Like the Lord our God {Psalm 145}

12:00 PM

Scripture Reading: Psalm 145

Who is like our God? To whom can we compare Him too? There is so much mystery that surrounds Him, yet I believe the greatest mystery to me is that a holy, pure and righteous God; who is worshiped day and night (24/7) in heaven would choose to walk among sinful man. Have you ever thought of that as you were reading the Bible? Why does He desire to fellowship, teach, train and most of all bless us?

There is also another really cool truth I have a hard time wrapping my brain around.

Do you remember in Exodus 19, God's people were only permitted to come to the base of Mt. Sinai or they would die if they went any further? The leaders among them were permitted to go a bit further, but only Moses and Aaron were permitted to come up to meet with God.

During the days of the temple the Levites were chosen to minister to the people in the outer courts, but the sons of Zadok, the Levitical priests, took care of the sanctuary, coming closer to God to minister to Him (Eze.44:15)

And finally in Jesus' day, Jesus ministered to the people and had many disciples, but 12 were chosen among the others to be His closest disciples, and three were selected out of the twelve for even more intimate times, and still He was closest to John.

The most amazing truth for me today is that the veil that once kept us from entering the Most Holy  Place was torn in two at the moment of Jesus' death - signifying that He desires there to be no more separations between us and God. None!

Beloved, grab hold of this, you can get as close and as intimate as you want to God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ! You can climb to the top of Mt. Sinai! You can enter into the Holy of Holies! You can call our God, Friend!

God is seeking worshipers! He desires for all of us to be eager to know Him more deeply and intimately, and experience ALL of who He is. He longs for His people not only to love Him but be in love with Him, for when you are in love, you desire to please your Beloved more than anything!

I want to encourage you to join me on a life long journey to discover all we can about this Awesome God, who LOVES us and desires to walk with us each moment of our life! Let's begin in Psalm 145 with the question; who is like our God?

I will exalt you, my God and King,
    and praise your name forever and ever.
I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever.
Great are You Lord! And most worthy of praise! [There is no one like You]
    No one can measure Your greatness. (Ps. 145:1-3)

Let us tell our children of Your mighty acts; let us proclaim your power! (v.4)

Who, O God is like You?
 You are merciful and compassionate,
    slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
Who is good to everyone, and showers compassion on all his creation. (v. 8-9)

Who among the gods is like You, O Lord?
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
You rule throughout all generations.
You always keeps Your promises. You are gracious in all You do. (v. 13)

Who God is like You?
Who helps the fallen
    and lifts those bent beneath their loads. (v.14)

There is none like you,
You open your hand, and satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.
17 You are righteous in everything You do;
You are filled with kindness.

O God, who is like You?

You are close to all who call on You, yes, to all who call on You in truth.
 You grants the desires of those who fear You; You hears their cries for help and rescues them.

You protects all those who love You, but You will destroy the wicked.

O Lord, we could go on and on. We haven't even begun to speak of Psalm 89:6-7; Isaiah 43:11, 44:6, 45:5-7 and 40:25-26. There's so much more found throughout Your pages of Truth!

You are God! And there is no other! Your love abounds, Your purposes will stand and You will do all that pleases You! O Lord, we will praise You, and may everyone on earth bless Your holy name  forever and ever. Amen
