Scripture Saturday ~ "Becoming A Woman After God's Own Heart - A Journey Through The Psalms"

Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into His presence with singing! Know that the LORD, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. (Psalm 100:2-3)
Knowing that God is sovereign over all creation, that He is merciful, good, faithful, and loving toward His people shows me that His salvation, Jesus, is the greatest of all the reasons to worship and thank Him.
I know, I know…two Psalms. But truly didn’t you just feel like bursting out in song while reading this week? Didn’t you want to tell everyone of His loving care, His strength, His holiness, His steadfastness, His faithfulness, His promises fulfilled, His salvation, His Savior? Didn’t you want to jump for joy knowing that you are HIS?!
I found this comment by Matthew Henry to be fitting for the words in Psalm 98:1-3…
“God had mercy in store for the seed of Abraham, and had given them many and great assurances of the kindness He designed them in the latter days; and it was in pursuance of all those that He raised up his Son Jesus to be not only a light to lighten the Gentiles, but the glory of His people Israel; for He sent Him, in the first place, to bless them. God is said, in sending Christ, to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember the holy covenant.” (M. Henry)
