The Unholy Trinity Could Becoming in Just a Few Years {Revelation 13}

9:24 AM

 Scripture Reading: Revelations 13

Satan has been called many things - Liar, Deceiver, Murderer, the Enemy, the Evil One, even the Antichrist. These are just a few of his names, and not one is ever flattering. He was revealed as the dragon in Revelations 12:17, and now here in chapter thirteen we see something more about his character that I want you to always remember.

Satan is a counterfeit, who never has an original thought.

He has little to no imagination of his own, and often merely copies what God has already done. He demonstrates this here for us when he decides to create an unholy trinity.

Satan, as the dragon, will set himself up as the anti-god of the “trinity” and then he recruits two helpers to join him in this war against God’s people. Together they will try to imitate God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

The Beast from the sea (Rev 13:1, 4) will resemble Jesus as the anti-christ. This antichrist will be the political “beast” of vs. 1. He will get his power and position from Satan (vs. 2), and will even suffer a fatal wound and come back to life (vs. 3). Although the anti-christ will deceive many into thinking his power comes from God, it will come from Satan (vs. 2).

The Beast from the earth (Rev 13:11-12) also called the False Prophet (Rev. 16:13, 20:10) will resemble the Holy Spirit. This beast will cause all on the earth to worship the anti-christ (vs. 12), and will also have supernatural powers, that will enable him to call fire down from heaven (vs. 13) and preform other miracles (vs. 14). The beast of the earth/false prophet will order men to create an “image to the beast” (vs. 14). His powers will even give the idol life, and the ability to speak (vs. 15). A one-world religious system will be forced into place, and he will have all that do not worship the anti-christ killed (vs. 15)! He will also demand that all must have a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads in order to buy or sell (vs. 16,17). The mark will have something to do with the number 666 (vs. 18).

I know this all sounds frightening, but thankfully this will all take place at the middle point of the seven years of tribulation. God's people will have already been raptured 31/2 years prior.

What IS frightening is that if Jesus were to come for us today, these events could only be three and a half years away! Have you thought of that before? If Jesus came back for us today, do you personally know others who will be left to face this unholy trinity?  The Deceiver, this fake and fraud, will be able to deceive many and cause many to worship him rather than turn to a holy God.

As I thought on this, my mind went back to Deuteronomy, chapter 6 and the Shema: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. (Deut. 6:4-8)

The Shema to be the most important part of the prayer service in Judaism, and its twice-daily recitation as a mitzvah (religious commandment). Also, it is traditional for Jews to say the Shema as their last words, and for parents to teach their children to say it before they go to sleep at night. (Wikipedia)

The chapter goes on to warn us and command us over and over again to study, obey and teach His Word to others throughout, "Fear the Lord your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.  Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you;  for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land... Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.  Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you..." (Deut 6:13-18)

In light of all we read in Revelations, and knowing that God could see the end just as clearly as He saw the beginning, I now understand God's sense of urgency as He commands us to study, obey and teach others His commands. Can't you?

Blessings,

Evangelists

The World’s Greatest Evangelists {Revelation 11}

1:00 PM

Revelation 11

In the previous chapters, we’ve seen God’s wrath unleashed upon the earth through a series of seal and trumpet judgements. Now in chapter 11, we once again are reminded of God’s never ending love and grace; even for a stubborn and unrepentant people.

While the world worships at the feet of the Antichrist and continually rejects Him, God still gives people the opportunity to be saved by sending two witnesses to preach the Gospel in the city of Jerusalem. Bible scholars say these two men are either Moses and Elijah, or Enoch and Elijah. Regardless, these two divine evangelists are so powerful they are called the anointed ones who stand in the presence of God. (Zech. 4:14)

For 3 1/2 years, these two witnesses are under the divine protection of the Father. No harm may come to them while they deliver their message. Dressed in sackcloth, these men go through the city, warning all who will listen to repent from their evil ways. They testify about the true Messiah, Jesus Christ, and offer His gift of salvation. They convict the world of their sins, and their worship of the beast. And once their testimony was been deemed complete by God, He allows the “beast that comes up out of the abyss,” (vs. 7) to kill them. How does the world react to the deaths of these two great men of God? They rejoice.

For 3 1/2 days the world watches the dead bodies of the two witnesses laying in the streets of Jerusalem, while having a great celebration and exchanging gifts. Then suddenly, “the breath of God came into them, and they stood on their feet.” (vs. 11). Frozen with fear the people hear fear a loud voice cry, “Come up here!”, and the witnesses “went up into heaven in the cloud.” (vs. 12)

At the moment the men ascend, a great earthquake occurs, causing great destruction in the city and the deaths of seven thousand people. And in the midst of the desolation and despair, those who remain alive, in their terror, finally give the great God of heaven the glory He deserves.

Jesus, the conquering Lion of Judah, is returning soon. Yet we needn’t fear the great tribulation. For those who receive Christ as their Savior before His coming, He promises to take in the Rapture and spare God’s wrath to come. The choice is yours. Will you be watching the events of the tribulation at the side of Jesus, or will you be experiencing the judgements of God on a devastated earth.

The Day Heaven Fell Silent {Revelation 8}

9:00 AM

  Revelation 8

“When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.(Rev 8:1)

Are you curious as to why heaven suddenly goes silent? Me too. Six of the seven seals have just been opened in chapter 6, revealing one incredible judgment after another, but as the final seal is broken, we read there was 'silence in heaven for half an hour'. No one is exactly sure why heaven goes silent at this moment, but there is something else I don't want you to miss out on in this chapter.

Those in heaven have never been completely silent in their continuous worship of God. In fact, scripture tells us that there are four living creatures who never cease, to cry: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is, and is to come” (Rev 4:8) - and yet, as the seventh seal is broken a heavenly hush descended on the assembly, as another mighty angel enters with a golden censer.

Many theologians believe this angel is 'The Angel of the Lord' , or our Lord Jesus, who is God's anointed High Priest of heaven. The Book of Hebrews tells us that Jesus is the One at the right hand of the Father, interceding for all the saints day and night.

He is the Kingly-Priest after the order of Melchizedek, but I also want you to notice here that in this hallowed scene, He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand. (Rev 8:3-4)

Did you know your prayers are being stored?

Just stop to think for a moment that the angel was holding a golden censer, and was given much incense to burn before the Lord. The smoke of the incense and perfumed fragrance of the spices, which exhale its sweet perfume when burned, was given to him so he might mingle it with the prayers of all the people of God on the golden altar before the throne of the Lord.

From the beginning of time prayers of petition, intercession, thanksgiving and praise have ascended from God's people to His throne of grace.

  • Abraham prayed when he reached the land of Canaan
  • Noah prayed when safely delivered from the waters that flooded the earth.
  • Daniel faced Jerusalem three times a day as he offered his petitions before the Lord.
  • And think how often The Psalms have been turned to for prayers! And,
  • Jesus encouraging us to pray, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven."

_Peter assured us that the eyes of the Lord are always on the righteous and His ears are attentive to the prayers and petitions of His people.

_Psalms 116 tells us that God bends down to listen to our prayers

Beloved, our prayers are a sweet-smelling aroma that ascend to our Lord. Even though they may not seem so eloquent, or might not have been answered yet, we can trust that a day is coming when heaven will be silent for half an hour; to usher in a mighty angel with His golden censer. And the smoke of the incense of Christ's High Priestly intercessions will be combined with the our prayers - as the final phase of God's plan of redemption begins.

Just how cool is that?

Blessings,

sue

Jesus Christ

The Lamb Breaks The Seals {Revelation 6}

5:06 PM

Revelation 6

God’s heavenly scroll contains His divine sentence against the world. Held together by seven seals, the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, is the only One holy and worthy to unroll the scroll. And with each seal broken by the Lord, a new judgement is unleashed upon the earth. Chapter six of Revelation brings us to the beginning of God’s wrath poured out upon a wicked and unrepentant world.

The first four seals come in the form of four divine horsemen.

Rider On The White Horse- This rider is no other than the Antichrist. He sets forth to conquer the world, quickly rising to power. Many fall under his spell as he brokers a false peace between Israel and the world, lasting 3 1/2 years. During this time he leads many away from God.

Rider On The Red horse- The moment the abomination of desolation occurs, the red horse and rider are set loose. This rider takes peace from the world causing wars like never before seen. The great sword he is given drips with blood as the people of the earth slaughter each other.

Rider On The Black Horse- Back in ancient times, scales were often used to weigh something precious. As this rider brings with him worldwide economic collapse and famine, the precious thing being weighed is food. Except for the privileged few, food will be both scarce and expensive.

Rider On The Pale Horse- Called death, and bringing hell along with him, the pale horse and rider are responsible for the deaths of 1/4 of the world’s population. No one will be immune to the war, famine, and wild beasts of earth at his disposal as he wipes out the peoples of the earth.

The fifth seal releases the cries of the tribulation saints. Even facing certain persecution and death, many will receive Jesus as their Savior and be saved during the seven year tribulation. These martyred believers, clothed in white, plead for God to avenge their spilled blood. And in yet another example of the love and grace of God, He tells them they must wait and rest a bit longer until all of His children have had the opportunity to be saved.

The Final seal of the chapter wields forth nuclear war and devastating cosmic occurrences. Fired nuclear weapons decimate the lands. Asteroids, and meteorites rain down from the sky, and a shaking of the earth so great occurs, it causes all peoples to hide themselves, “in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of the their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’(vs 16-17)

On that great day, no one will be able to hide from God. But in His goodness and love, God gives each of us the opportunity to escape His wrath to come. When we receive His free gift of pardon through the blood of Jesus Christ, before the tribulation occurs, the Lord will call us to meet Him in the sky in the Rapture, sparing us the judgement to come. The Bible tells us that those who go through the tribulation know the judgements they incur come from the most high God, yet their hardened hearts still reject Him and His Son.

The days are growing short my friends. I truly believe we are living in the season of the Lord’s return. Won’t you save yourself from the wrath to come, and receive God’s gift of eternal life filled with love, joy, and fellowship with the Lord forever?

Church

Wake Up!! {Revelations 3}

8:00 AM

 Today's Scripture Passage: Revelations 3

I was once very much like the church of Sardis; busy, busy, busy! I was teaching in a Christians school during the day, working in the Awana and Sunday School programs on Wednesday nights and Sundays, leading a women's study on Tuesdays, while trying to make time for my husband and children each week. I was looking good on the outside; doing all the right things, but I was dead spiritually and didn't even know it, until The Lord moved me thousands of miles away from everyone and thing, except my husband, and sat me down to have a talk.  It wasn't quite like the one He had with the Church of Sardis, but there are enough similarities:

“I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive—but you are dead.  Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God.

I'd be lying if I said that He hadn't gotten my undivided attention at that moment.

Can you relate? Has there been a time in your life when you were kept so busy in ministering to others that it was adversely impacting your relationship with Him?

  • Your study time was to benefit others through your teaching.
  • Your prayer time had become mechanical. Running down a list of requests for others or your own personal needs you could foresee coming ahead for that day or week.
  • Your date book was full with notations of phone calls to make and so forth, and when your phone did ring you feared you'd forgotten someone or something.
  • You fell into bed at night and were out as soon as your head hit the pillow.
  • There was never anytime to sit silently before the Lord and listen even for five minutes.

 Did you know that the way the Lord presents Himself to each of the churches is a clue as to what the underlining problem is within each of them? Here He calls Himself, "him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars." These symbols were identified for us in the first chapter of Revelation. The "seven spirits" are a symbol of the Holy Spirit in His fullness.

Therefore, what the church at Sardis and I desperately needed was God's Spirit operating and back in charge.

We need to be walking in the Spirit, and to remember that Jesus is Lord of His church. It is never left up to us to run the church, and minister in our own strength.

Somehow both the church at Sardis and I had forgotten that along the way. Which should lead us to wonder, what do we do when that happens? He tells us in the very next verses,

  Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief.

“Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.

Simple as that! Turn around and go back to The Lord, surrender once more and allow Him to take over.  Don't you just love how simple The Lord makes things?  Everything changes in one act of obedience. We can set it all back into His hands and find rest, refreshment and the renewal our soul had been longing for.

One more thing I must tell you before I close, for this speaks volumes of our Lord's heart I believe. It's found in Revelation 3:5,

Did you know that white garments are always a symbol of redemption in the Scriptures? In the seventh chapter of this book we'll read of a great multitude of people who will come out of the great tribulation and who have "washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb," (Revelation 7:14).

White garments are a sign of being redeemed, being saved by the grace of God. Our Lord is so very rich in mercy and lovingkindness, beloved.  He promises us once more all will be forgiven and forgotten. When we fall short, whether by accident or on purpose we only need to turn (repent) to right our relationship with Him once more.

Know wonder He is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.(Is 9:6)

Blessings,

The Living Word (Luke 24)

12:30 PM

Our Reading: Luke 24

The resurrection story is familiar and yet always amazing! In the minds of the followers of Jesus, He was gone. His death seemed so final. The women were taking spices to anoint his body and when the body wasn’t there,. They were perplexed. Even though Jesus had foretold his death and resurrection, no one was looking for him. They were not expecting a living Jesus. And they were frightened by the mysterious men who appeared.  “And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen...”(v5-6). They were told to remember the words of Jesus and they did and those words had fresh meaning. Suddenly, everything had changed.  The Master was still present, still in charge, and still at work in their lives.

But, the disciples needed their own personal encounter. They still didn’t understand. How ironic that Jesus walked with 2 of them as they traveled to Emmaus and they didn’t know they were telling Jesus himself about their dashed hopes in Him.  “But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel...” (v24) And Jesus responded, “And he said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?" And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” (v25-27).

Maybe they didn’t understand before, but all of that changed when Jesus gave them new understanding. The familiar words of the Scriptures took on new revelation, new life and personal experience. “They said to each other, "Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?"” (v32) And then Jesus appeared to the other disciples and they had their own personal encounter with the risen Savior too. And once again, he reminded them to remember his Words. Then he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,” (v44-45)

The hopes renewed in the hearts of the followers of Jesus are our shared hopes too. He is not just a great prophet, or an amazing teacher who walked the Earth 1000s of years ago, but He is the living Jesus, the Son of God, and His Words are still available and relevant to us today.  Each of us must have a personal encounter with the living, risen Savior. We must become familiar with His Words for they are our instruction manual. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ) And because Jesus rose from the dead and sent the Holy Spirit to us, we also can have understanding of the Scriptures opened up to us. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” (John 14:26)

How exciting is that? I learned just this week about 2 different words used in the original texts for God’s Word. One is “logos” which refers to a general, broad knowledge or familiarity with Scripture. The other is “Rhema” which refers to a more specific, personally impacting understanding of Scripture. We must be in His Word to have that general “logos” understanding and we must have a personal relationship with Jesus to have that spiritually revealed “Rhema” understanding. Then, we too can know what it’s like to converse on an intimate level and have our hearts burn within us too as His passion and love penetrates to new depths and with new revelation.

Jesus' Return

“Cordially Invited” {Rev. 19}

12:30 AM

My husband and I will have been married twenty five years in September. To many that seems like a lifetime, yet to me it seems like just yesterday that I was a eager bride, ready to begin my new life with my new husband. I remember feelings of anticipation and excitement swirling inside me as I stood in the church waiting to walk down the aisle. Yet the happiness I felt on that day can’t begin to compare to the joy that will fill my heart when, as the bride of Christ, I walk down the aisle to Jesus.

In Revelation 19 John speaks of his vision where he hears “something like a great multitude in heaven saying, ‘Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God’.” (vs. 1) A great celebration is happening all around John. God, “whose judgments are true and righteous”, (vs. 2) has destroyed the Antichrist and his followers, avenging the blood of those Christians who fell by his hand. The heavens are filled with praise over God’s great victory. The heavenly host exult His name and rejoice in the “marriage of the Lamb”.  Christ the Bridegroom has come for His bride the church. “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” (vs. 7) This glorious union is indeed cause for great celebration. For not only does it promise blessings to those who are invited to the wedding feast (vs 9), it ushers in the triumphant return of our Lord.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.” (vs. 11) Forever to be called, “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (vs. 16) in glory and power Jesus, with His bride by His side, returns to the earth. He strikes down the nations with His Word and rules over them with a rod of iron. With the, “fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.” (vs. 15) Christ tramples the wicked like grapes trampled in a wine press.

When Jesus returns, He is not coming back as the gentle Lamb. He will appear as the reigning King, our mighty warrior, and as the righteous Judge of the living and the dead. Jesus returns with His forces to accomplish all the remaining prophecies and covenants of His Word-establishing His kingdom on earth and destroying evil. He is called Faithful and True because not one of His promises will go unfulfilled.”....Dr. Charles Stanley

Jesus is coming soon for His bride. He has set the date, planned the ceremony, arranged the wedding supper, and sent out the invitations. “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And the one who hears says, ‘Come.’ And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.” (Rev. 22:17). Once again I am filled with anticipation and excitement as I wait for that illustrious day when I join my Bridegroom forever. Until then I will continue to grow in both closeness and likeness to Jesus, serve Him with abandon, and tell all who wish to attend the “marriage of the Lamb”, that they are cordially invited!

Lamb

Worthy! {Revelation 5}

12:00 AM

Scripture Reading : Revelation 5

It’s Easter week! A time to celebrate all we have received only because of all Jesus did for us this week thousands of years ago at Calvary. Last week I wrote on that from Isaiah 53 and you’re welcome to read it here, but for this week, I can think of no better spot to be celebrating than in this chapter where we see our Savior and Lord as King! The only One found worthy!

John is sharing his vision. God on His thrown holds a scroll that no one has been found worthy enough to open, and John is overwhelmed to the point of weeping with utter despair, but suddenly one of the elders says to him, “Do not weep!  See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.  He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”  John looks up, expecting to see this lion, but instead, he tells us, “Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne.”  At the sight of this Lamb, the heavenly creatures and elders fell down before the Lamb and sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9).

No longer the babe lying in the manger, or our Savior on the cross, through John’s vision we see the Lion of Judah, the Root of David, the only One worthy… may I say that again, the ONLY ONE worthy to take the scroll out of God’s hands and open the seals! And at that very moment Jesus takes hold of the scroll, “the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb in an act of worship and begin to sing! A very special song for a number of reasons:

  • This Song of the Lamb is a song that proclaims the power of God, not through violence, but through His overwhelming, sacrificial love.
  • It’s a song that displays God’s gift through the outpouring of Christ’s blood.
  • It’s a song that displays the wisdom of God that is often perceived as foolishness by His enemies.
  • It’s a song that speaks of the strength of God made perfect through our weakness.
  • The Song of the Lamb is a hymn that gives honor, glory and praise to our amazing Savior who, “being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.  And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death- even death on a cross!  Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:6-11).

Tomorrow begins our holy week celebration. And as you go through the days ahead I pray you’ll sing this song along with me!

Let our singing be an act of worship to the One who is both the Lion of Judah and the sacrificial Lamb of God. The only One found worthy to break the seals! There is no one else who is worthy of our worship and praise!

Let us join with the heavenly hosts this week as we approach Easter in singing: “To the One who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be all blessing and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”  And let all God’s creatures say,Amen!

Earth

A New Heaven and A New Earth {Rev. 21-22}

12:00 AM

Do you ever wonder how we as believers will spend eternity? In these last chapters of Revelation, John answers that question when he reveals what is known as the “eternal state”, or the eternal destiny of believers. And the picture he paints is one of such peace, joy, and love, that I too can’t help but cry, “Maranatha!” Come Lord Jesus!

I saw a new heaven and a new earth.” (vs. 21:1) In 2 Peter 3:10-13, we are told that the world we know, with all of its filth and pollution, is burned away by God, creating a new heaven and a new earth, “in which righteousness dwells.” This new earth will be restored to the beauty and perfection that God originally created before the fall of man. It is on this new earth that we will spend eternity with the Lord.

Upon this new earth, we will live in the glorious city of the new Jerusalem. It will be a city with a foundation of precious stones, gates of giant pearls, and streets of pure gold. A city that, “has no need of the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.” (vs. 21:23) Imagine that! Never again will we experience night, for the spectacular Shekinah glory of God will be illuminating every inch! There, where God establishes His throne, we will be with the Father and the Son forever, serving and glorifying Him in all we do. “He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them.” (vs. 21:3)

And, in one of the most beautiful promises of the Bible, God says that He will, “wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” (vs. 21:4) I love Dr. Charles Stanley’s thoughts when he says, “Our eternal home is like nothing we’ve ever experienced before because it is a place that is free from sin, death, fear, guilt, and sorrow. Never again will we experience the consequences of our fallen nature; separation from our loved ones, loss, worry, sickness, crime, pain, or injustice. Rather, we’ll be absolutely free to become all God created us to be, to His praise and glory. And best of all, we will enjoy full, wonderful fellowship with our Lord and Savior forever.

Yes, I am coming quickly.” (vs. 22:20) With these final words, Jesus warns us that His return soon approaches. And in His return He brings with Him the fulfillment of all the wonderful promises of Revelation. “He who overcomes will inherent these things, and I will be His God and he will be My son.” (vs. 21:7) Who is an overcomer? 1 John 5:1-5 tells us that an overcomer is one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

“Brethren, Jesus is coming! He is even now on the way. You have heard our tidings till you scarcely credit us, but the Word of God is true and it will surely be fulfilled before long. The Lord is coming, indeed! He promised to come to die and He kept His Word—He now promises to come to reign and you may be sure that He will keep His tryst with His people. He is coming! Ears of faith can hear the sound of His chariot wheels! Every moment of time, every event of Providence is bringing Him nearer. Blessed are those servants who shall not be sleeping when He comes, nor wandering from their posts of duty! Happy shall they be whom their Lord shall find faithfully watching and standing fast in that great day!”....Charles Spurgeon

So how about you? Time is running out. Have you received Jesus as your Savior? Have you laid hold of His wonderful promises? One day soon we will each see Him face to face. And when He comes will He find you serving Him with abandon while eagerly and joyfully awaiting His return?

I personally want to thank you for your commitment to all the reading, studying, and journalling you have done this year! To God be the Glory!

Our reading this week was Revelation 1 - 22 (22 will be read on December 31)

1. Examine your heart today. How welcome is Christ in every part of your life? He wants to be central in your thoughts. He wants to be your closest friend. Are you letting Him? Today in worship, invite Him into the areas you have been guarding behind closed doors.

Look! Here I stand at the door and knock. If you hear me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal as friends. (Revelation 3:20)

2. How can you develop the discipline of communing with the LORD moment by moment? Make it your practice to mix prayer with a life sacrificed to the glory of God.

Then another angel with a gold incense burner came and stood at the altar. And a great quantity of incense was given to him to mix with the prayers of God’s people, to be offered on the gold altar before the throne. The smoke of the incense, mixed with the prayers of the saints, ascended up to God from the altar where the angel had poured them out. (Revelation 8:3-4)

3. What is your favorite hymn or praise song? What makes it so meaningful to you? Write a few lines of praise that you could sing to God.

This great choir sang a wonderful new song in front of the throne of God and before the four living beings and the twenty-four elders. And no one could learn this song except those 144,000 who had bee redeemed from the earth. (Revelations 14:3)

Guilt Free Life {Revelations 12:1-14:20}

Revelation 12:10 New International Version (NIV)

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:“Now have come the salvation and the power    and the kingdom of our God,    and the authority of his Messiah.For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,    who accuses them before our God day and night,    has been hurled down.

Has it happened to you? Do you often fall into the trap of thinking you are the worst person on the face of the earth and that nobody else does the things that you do?

Romans 3:23 says that WE HAVE ALL fallen short of the glory of God (excellence). This means that every man, woman or child that was ever born or will ever be has a problem with sin. But the GOOD NEWS is that God provided and answer to our problem.

Just as we have all sinned, we have been justified and made righteous through the redemption provided through Christ, as a result, as believers in Jesus we now have the "rightness" instead of the "wrongness".

Satan wants us to feel wrong, unworthy and like helpless messes. He knows that without confidence we will never step out in faith to fulfull God destinies for our lives. He wants to keep us captives in the prison of self-hatred, self-rejection to prevent us from making progress or even being a thread to him and his kingdom of darkness.

We must believe we have made righteous in God's eyes, so we may actually start behave rightly. Believe it first, so you can live it. For we cannot produce the fruit of something for which no seed as been sown.

2 Corinthians 5:21 New International Version (NIV)

God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Satan is called "the accuser". He tries to make us feel guilty and condemned. When we feel like that we must remember that God does not make us feel that way, instead, God wants us to experience His love and feel the freeing power of His forgiveness.
Guilt depresses us and makes us feel as we're under a heavy burden. But Jesus came to lift us up and to bring the good news that our sins... all of them have been forgiven and forgotten!
Resist the guilt and condemnation by embracing the salvation and authority of Christ in your life!!
