Walking in Wisdom-Praying and Waiting
Acts 1
Luke wrote two books, the gospel of Luke and Acts.
Both books were written to Theophilus.
Who is Theophilus, the bible is not clear on that but his
name means loved by God.

Acts 1:4-5
Gathering them together, He
commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father  had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of
from Me; for John baptized with water, but you
will be baptized with the Holy Spirit  not
many days from now.”
Jesus would no longer walk with them on this earth.  They were to be filled with the Holy Spirit
to continue the work that He sent them to do.
By the power of the Holy Spirit living in them they will be
witnesses of Jesus Christ to the remotest parts of the world.
Acts 1:8
but you will receive power when the
Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
Jesus told them that it would not many days from now, so
what were they doing while they were
waiting?

Acts 1:14
These all with one mind were
continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the
mother of Jesus, and with His brothers
Are you sometimes in a waiting with the Lord?
What do you do during that time?
Waiting is not necessarily a time of doing nothing.  It is a time to be focused on Him.
We all have many ways on how we spend time with the Lord in
prayer.  Recently I came upon this
acrostic for prayer and I want to share it with you.  It is taken from the battle plan for prayer
from the movie the war room.
