Coming This Fall... The Women of The Old Testament

8:30 AM

A Twelve Week Study on The Women of the Old Testament

Hi Girls!!

We are < SO EXCITED > to be coming back this fall and digging into the lives of twelve great, and not so great, women of the Old Testament! We learned so very much during our study on the New Testament women this past spring, that we just knew we had to keep going this fall with women from the Old Testament.

And one of the best parts of this study is that each week we will focus on a different woman or group of women, so you're free to pop in and out when you can and never feel like you're behind in the study.

Here's our Lineup this Fall:

1.) Eve -The first women.
2.) Sarah & Hagar
3.) Rebekah
4.) Jacob's wives
5.) Miriam
6.) Rahab
7.) Ruth & Naomi
8.) Hannah
9.) David's wives
10.) The Shunammite Woman
11.) Esther
12.) Proverbs 31 woman

We plan to begin on Monday, August 30th so that we can finish with the Proverbs 31 woman on the Friday before Thanksgiving, (November 19th)

More details will be coming soon!

Stay tuned and we pray you'll soon be as excited as we are to get started!!

Blessings,

Sue

A Prayer for Our Study in 2020

6:48 AM

Please join us in praying over the next week before we begin:
Abba, Father,
Almighty God! Holy, holy, holy are You, God Almighty! And we long to know you more, and be found wholly pleasing to You, Abba.

Please take Your precious daughter, each of us, right up next to Your heart this year. Keep us and make Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us, we pray. (Num 6:24-25). Shower us and the women on WitW with an outpouring of Your blessing, Your presence, the assurance of Your favor, and Your enabling grace.

You have written our days in Your book. You knew us by name before we were born and how we would bring You glory! (Ps 139:15-18). Your thoughts of us are too numerous to count. We are constantly on Your mind and heart. Hallelujah!

This is a big challenge for us this year and we pray You’ll continue to assure us that Your presence goes with us and you will bless our efforts with Your wisdom and all the ablities we’ll need to do our job WELL!

Please Father, don’t let us go where You do not bless (Exo 33:12-16). Teach us Your ways and make us sensitive to Your hand on our lives. Let us know Your faithful direction at all times. Go before us to open the way where there seems to be no way. Please place before us an open door that no one can shut, according to Your sovereign will (Rev 3:7-8), and shut all doors outside Your will for us.

Please make a way for all those YOU desire to do this study to join us and bless each woman's efforts. Yes, bless us indeed and enlarge our territory in all areas in our lives! Let Your hand be with us constantly to strengthen us and keep us from harm (1 Chron. 4:10).

Establish Your appointed work through our hands with Your favor (Ps 90:17). Great are Your purposes, and mighty are Your deeds. Your eyes are open to all our ways (Jer 32:19). Smile upon us today and throughout this study this year with Your compassion and Your full blessing, as we seek You continually. (Isa 30:18). And may we finish STRONG! Amen.

Challenges for 2020!

10:52 AM

It's Time for The Big Reveal for 2020!

Hi Everyone!!

I am so excited about what we'll be doing in 2020!! Have you realized that we're getting set to embark not only on a new year, but a new decade!!?

Once I realized that, the pressure was on to make next year's study something really special, and I think we've done just that! We're offering not one, but two challenges for 2020 and both are things we've never done before!!

The first challenge will be to read through the New Testament; Monday through Friday chronologically! We'll begin with Dr. Luke and his first book named after him and then move into his second book - The Book of Acts. Only then, as we're going through Acts, we'll jump off into other books. For example, as we read about Paul imprisoned in Rome, we'll then jump to the letters he wrote there while in prison!

It will be as though we're traveling through the First Century!

Does that sound exiting to you? It does to me too! Our new journey will begin here on the blog and on Women in the Word Facebook group on Monday, January 6, 2020.

And if that wasn't enough, we've also added a second challenge for 2020!

Our second challenge for 2020 is to memorize Jesus' entire Sermon on the Mount that's found in Matthew, chapters 5, 6 and 7! We'll be meditating and memorizing on two verses each week and will have gone through the entire sermon by the end of 2020.

Even if you're not into hiding His Word in your heart, I hope you'll be excited to meditate on this special part of Scripture throughout the year!

Sandra will be posting our verses to work on each week on Saturdays and Sundays will be dedicated to worship and prayer.

That's our year in a "nutshell" only we still have one problem.... A Name! We still haven't come up with the perfect name for our study!! We've had some great suggestion and I think it's time we put it to a vote!

If you'd like to cast your vote you can join us over at Women in the Word to make your vote count!

Here are some of the great suggestions so far:

1.) Fully Pleasing Him
2.) Seeking the Knowledge of God
3.) Walking in Wisdom
4.) Walking in the Light of His Word
5.) Seeking His Favor in 2020

We'd love to hear your thoughts! But whatever the title will be, I'm fairly confident that it's going to be an exciting year and study! And I hope you'll join us!!

Blessings,
sue

Women in the Word's 2019 Study is Officially in The Books - "Gloria in excelsis Deo"

12:00 AM

2019 Study is Officially in The Books

Each week the writers gather together to pray for this ministry and all those involved in it, for we truly believe this is His ministry, and we can do nothing apart from Him. That hour of prayer continues to be one of the most treasured hours of our week!

Below is one of the prayers we often include during our time throughout the year:

Abba, Take Your precious children right up next to Your heart today. Keep us and make Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us, we pray. (Num 6:24-25). Shower us and the women on WitW with an outpouring of Your blessing, Your presence, the assurance of Your favor, and Your enabling grace.
You have written our days in Your book. You knew us by name before we were born and how we would glorify You! (Ps 139:15-18). Your thoughts of us are too numerous to count. We are constantly on Your mind. Hallelujah! Please continue to assure us that Your presence goes with us, and don’t let us go where You do not bless (Exo 33:12-16). Teach us Your ways and make us sensitive to Your hand on our lives. Let us know Your faithful direction at all times. Go before us to open the way where there seems to be no way. Please place before us an open door that no one can shut, according to Your sovereign will (Rev 3:7-8), and shut all doors outside Your will for us.Please make a way for all those YOU desire to do this study to join us and bless each woman's efforts. Smile upon us today and throughout this study with Your compassion and Your full blessing, as we seek You continually. (Isa 30:18). Amen.

We believe God has continued to honor our requests found here in this prayer incredibly! For example, take this one request I've highlighted found in 1Chronicles 4:10, "Yes, bless us indeed and enlarge our territory in all areas in our lives!" In the fall of 2012 we began our first study with 35 women! I remember rejoicing and thinking at the time it was more than I could fit comfortably in my living room! Today, seven years later, we have women joining us from all over the world! Over 17,000 on our T2 women Facebook page, and more than 800 have joined us in our closed Facebook group we call, Women in the Word!

And this year we decided to translate our study into Spanish and post on Mujer Proverbios 31, our  Spanish speaking Facebook page which now has over 20,000 members reaching Central, South America and Spain! And to that we can say, "Gloria in excelsis Deo"! He so amazes us!

Next year we'll start a new decade, with a brand new study starting on January 1, 2020! We'll be journeying through the entire New Testament chronologically!! Reading it how it was written! I actually did this, this year in my own devotion time and LOVE it! Which is why I know you will too!

We're also offering a HUGE challenge to anyone willing to accept it!! The challenge with be to memorize the entire Sermon on the Mount - chapters 5-7 in the Book of Matthew in 2020! This was Jesus' sermon- the greatest ever recorded and even if you can't get it all to memory wouldn't it be awesome to simply meditate on it throughout 2020!!? We'll be breaking the passage up into 2 verses each week. Two verses doesn't sound too terribly difficult and before you know it, we'll be done!

I am so excited to get started and I hope you'll join us and invite your friends to join in as well! It's looking like it's going to be an incredible year to grow in our walks with Him!!

All for His glory alone!

God bless you this Christmas, and we look forward to gathering together again in 2020!

Blessings,
sue

Not My Ususal Post! {Jude}

12:00 AM

Hi Everyone!

For those of you who have been graciously reading my posts each week, I have to warn you right up front, this will NOT be like all the others. The Lord began speaking to me weeks ago about His plans for next year and He used the Book of Jude to do it! NOW, I finally get to share what He has shared with me!!

Jude was also diverted from what he had originally planned to write on. Notice, Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else... (Jude 3a) So what’s so important!? I’m so glad you asked!

First God offers a warning:

[I’m writing instead]  urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to His holy people.  I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives.” (Jude 3b-4)

We already know girls, that this world is increasing growing away from God and His ways. My former pastor used to say, “It’s growing gloriously dark.” Darker, in order for our light to shine brighter is what he meant by that, but unfortunately, often times God’s universal church has remained quiet, and worse, some have even adopted ideas contrary to God’s Word, for fewer people today are actually reading His Word for themselves!

I can promise that, that will never be the case on Women in the Word! The Lord began this ministry six year ago so that like-minded women could find a safe-haven to come to, and find the support, and all they would need to go back out into the world and minister to those around them! And the Lord once more is calling us to defend the faith in 2018!

He begins by warning us to be on the lookout for those who might try to come among us; pretending to be one of us, but being used to actually weaken our faith. God gives us five characteristics to be on the lookout for; four found in verse 16, and the fifth in verse 19:

  • These people are grumblers and complainers.
  • Living only to satisfy their desires.
  • They brag loudly about themselves.
  • They flatter others to get what they want.
  • These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.
These are who we must watch out for, and should we see any of these signs we must trust that they are not for us, but against us and The Lord.

He then Exhorts Us to Focus on Five Areas Next Year:
Here in verses 20-23, God gives us five things we need to focus on in the coming year! (And this is what gets me so excited!!). We are to:

  1. Build one another up in your most holy faith
  2. Pray in the Spirit
  3. Keep busy serving one another through God’s love as you wait on The Lord Jesus
  4. Show mercy to, and help those whose faith is wavering.
  5. Save others by snatching them from the fire. (Bring salvation to other)

Isn’t this exciting!!? (I love when God speaks a personal message to us!!

Are you set and ready to join us? Great! But here’s the best part!

It’s all for His glory!!
Now all glory to God, Who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.  All glory to Him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are His before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen. (Jude 24-25 emphasis mine)

O goodness! I can’t wait until our study begins next year, for He promises to be there too; and will keep us from stumbling, while building us up, and bringing us right into His presence with “great joy”! It promises to be an incredible year and if you haven’t had a chance to join us yet, we sure hope you will! Simply, click on this link. There will always be someone there to welcome you!

Also, if you're still curious about what we'll be studying next year, here's a link that will provide a bit more information for you.

Blessings,
sue

Something Exciting is Coming To WitW in 2018!!

5:00 AM

Something Exciting is Coming to WitW in 2018!!

Hey Girls,
  • Would you like to devote 2018 to building upon your faith and adopting a moment-by-moment lifestyle of worship?
  • Have you ever wanted to read the Bible from cover to cover to discover all that's there for yourself?
  • Would you like to be a part of a small group of women (1-6 others) who you can meet with each week to share, pray and grow together?
That's our goal as well for 2018 and we'd love to have you join us!

We have always prayed that Women in the Word would be a safe-haven where like-minded women from around the world could meet to study God's Word, share their thoughts, inspirations, prayer requests, and find all they need to fill up their "spiritual tanks" to go back out into the world once more and minister to all those that God brings into their lives each day!

We also believe God has helped us meet these goals and is now calling us to add a deep level of faith, support and accountability in the coming year!! These are exciting days, girls!!

Here's the scoop:

__A new study will begin on January 1, 2018! We'll be going through the iWorship Daily Devotional Bible (links below). Here's how the publishers describe this Bible:
The "Daily Devotional Bible" draws God's people into His amazing presence and equips them to live with greater power and joy. The special features and notes in this Bible will help you celebrate and experience a fervent passion for God in everything you do. The "Daily Devotional Bible" will build your faith and encourage you to adopt a moment-by-moment lifestyle of worship!
But any Bible can be used for this study! (We will publish the reading plan for those of you who choose to use your favorite Bible)
__ Our Theme for 2018 is WORSHIP!
__ Monday - Friday we will publish and post a daily devotional on WitW for all to comment on and add their findings to.
__ Saturdays, we'll post our weekly memory verse. (Verses will follow the study.)
__ Sunday's focus will be solely on praise and worship! We'll post thought provoking questions to draw our thoughts to our awesome God and garner up a heart full of praise!

What will set this year's study apart from all the rest is that we are encouraging everyone to form "Koinonia Groups"of two - seven women to meet for a minimum of one hour a week to recite your memory verse, share prayer request and the things God has been teaching you, and to pray. You can do this,
  • In person
  • Over the phone
  • Over the Internet through Messenger, Skype etc.
  • Opening up another close group on Facebook just for your group
  • or Email
We hope you'll be able to encourage others in your circle of friends to join you on this adventure, but please don't worry if you can't find anyone, for we will also be forming groups with those who are already members of  WitW. (Just how cool would it be to find a kindred spirit thousands of miles away!?)

It's our prayer that you will fall in love with this Bible!! AND with the Lord more and more next year!! These Bibles are older and one is out of print which makes them inexpensive when you find them online ( as low as $1.99). I also pray as you begin to check out the Bible and share your excitement with others, you'll find others who will want to join you! Plus everyone is welcome to join WitW and get even more from all the sharing that will be going on!

We're publishing our plans a bit early so that you can get a jump on ordering a Bible should you choose to do so. (I've added the links to Amazon below, but there are other sites that also carry them.) The first is the newer version. I believe they are pretty much the same except the cover, so if you have trouble finding the older one, you can get the new version. BUT also remember you are free to use any Bible you prefer! (We will not profit off of any sale of the Bibles)

I have never been more excited about a New Year and study before!! I just know The Lord has great things in store for all of us!! So stay tuned! More information will be coming in the weeks ahead!!

Blessings,
sue
