Women of the Bible ~ Sarah ~ Scripture Saturday ~ Psalm 130:5

Welcome to Scripture Saturday!

Our verse for this week is Psalm 130:5..."I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in His Word I put my hope.”

In today’s world, living in the immediate kind of lifestyle, waiting patiently can be a difficult experience for Christians and their walk. We often think that waiting is somehow weak and perhaps lazy…but not so. We should learn from Sarah’s story…to remember God’s promises are revealed and fulfilled in His own timing.

In the story of Sarah we see that she attempted to fulfill her deep desire and God’s promise rather than waiting on God. And we see the consequence of her actions - jealousy and discord between her and Hagar.

God did fulfill Sarah’s desire and His promise…when it was His best time.

Do you have something you’re waiting for God to do? Waiting for a deep desire to be fulfilled…perhaps salvation of a loved one or a child’s return after wandering away?  Rest in who He is, rest in His promises, rest in knowing that He loves you, rest in the assurance that He will fulfill His promises to you…in His time.

Have a blessed week everyone!
