Read Psalm 15- Jude1:24-25
We all live in a city, town or countryside and with that come the freedoms of the laws of where we live. We have rules to abide by and in keeping those rules we pretty much can live a peaceful life. We can be as a light in the darkness or we can become just like everyone else.
The question here is who can live and abide in Him?
·
One who
walks with integrity and strength of character and works righteousness.
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood
And has not sworn deceitfully. Psalms 24:4
·
Who speaks
and holds truth in his heart
Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another Ephesians 4:25
·
Who does
not slander with his tongue
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Ephesians 4:31
·
Who does
no evil to his neighbor
Do not drag me away with the wicked
And with those who work iniquity,
Who speak peace with their neighbors,
While evil is in their hearts. Psalms 28:3
·
Who does
not take up a reproach against his friend
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16
·
Who honors
those who fear the Lord
They also honored us with many marks of respect; and when we were setting sail, they supplied us with all we needed. Acts 28:10
·
Who keeps
his word does not change it
Again, you have heard that the ancients were told, ‘ YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FALSE VOWS, BUT SHALL FULFILL YOUR VOWS TO THE LORD.’ Matthew 5:33
·
Who does
not put out his money at interest
If you lend money to My people, to the poor among you, you are not to act as a creditor to him; you shall not charge him interest. Exodus 22:25
·
Who does
not take a bribe against the innocent
You shall not distort justice; you shall not be partial, and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous Deuteronomy 16:19
He who does these things will not be shaken
Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; 11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. 2 Peter 1:10-11
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, 15 but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; 16 because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” 1 Peter 1:14-16
You shall consecrate yourselves therefore and be holy, for I am the LORD your God. 8 You shall keep My statutes and practice them; I am the LORD who sanctifies you Leviticus 20:7-8
We are to be holy as He is Holy!
Holy-pure in heart, temper or dispositions; free from sin and sinful affections.
Can we live this kind of life? Absolutely! We can because of Jesus Christ!
Reflection:
Do you spend time in His Word daily?
Do you hide His Word in your heart?
Are you totally surrendered to His will in your life?
Where is your focus and what are your actions?
Father, help us to be righteous in Your sight. To be holy as You are Holy! Our souls wait in silence for You God alone, for our hope is from You. You are our Rock, our salvation and our stronghold. We will not be shaken. On You rests our salvation. You are the rock of our strength and our refuge is in You. We trust in You at all times and we pour out our heart to You for You are our refuge. Now to You who is able to keep us from stumbling and make us stand in the presence of Your glory, blameless with great joy, to You God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority , before all time and now and forever. Amen
