In these past years all humanity has been involved in some way in the turmoil of the pandemic. It has affected us in so many ways that anxiety has taken its toll in the lives of so many people! But we cannot let it oppress us and enslave us! There is a solution and in God’s Word, Jesus taught His followers. –who were also dealing with oppression- the steps to follow: (Matthew 6:25-34 AMP)
25 “Therefore I tell you, stop
being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted)
about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your
body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more
than clothing?
Yes, we should stop being worried= perpetually
uneasy, distracted, about anything! You
might say it is easier said than done, but when you realize WHO you are putting
your trust in, than you can freely
rest on Him and put ALL your confidence in your Heavenly Father!
30 But if God so clothes the grass of
the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is [cut and] thrown [as
fuel] into the furnace, will He not much
more clothe you? You of little faith!
Jesus wants us to take a
close look at how God pours out His blessings over nature, and asks us to
ponder: “Aren’t we as His children, of far more value?” Remember just how much
you are loved for He gave His Son in ransom for us! (John 3:16)
32 For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you
need them.
When we are worried and
anxious about the material things of life we behave like pagans… like idol
worshippers! We set our trust on our own efforts and set out hearts on our
needs.
Our Heavenly Father knows exactly what we need and in the exact time He
will provide. But can you trust Him enough to let go? What is distracting you
from receiving the blessings of His Provision for each aspect of your life?
And last but not least, Jesus instructed:
33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
Seek Him wholeheartedly! Bring your fears and anxiety
to Him in prayer and confession. Ask Him to forgive your lack of faith and
trust in Him; tell Him all your needs… and especially how much you need Him.
How much you need to know Him and ask Him to strengthen you and fill you with
the Power of His Holy Spirit to overcome this!
33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
Our God is not a distant God, He is our Abba Father and He is interested in each and every ordeal of our lives. He knows our weaknesses and our afflictions and has also given us His Word in which we will find the comfort, cure and solution for every situation!
Yes, in Him and through His Word we will find the cure for our anxiety and a purpose for our day to day. He is the ONE and ONLY who can deliver us, heal us, comfort us, and FREE us! In Him and through Jesus’s redemption we will live in Victory!!
“ Trouble and anguish have
found me, Yet Your commandments are my delight and my joy.144 Your righteous testimonies are everlasting; Give me
understanding [the ability to learn and a teachable heart] that I may live.
(Psalm 119:143-144 AMP)
